Since the launch of the fourth campaign, new Dungeon Master Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept fans guessing with rich lore, a wide array of personalities, and a exciting storyline featuring celestial beings, fiends, and sinister influences expanding in influence within the city.
Warning: Key plot points for the third episode of this adventure are included.
The Soldiers Table Unveiled
The third episode concluded with a huge suspense moment and presented the premier party of characters who will split off from the central cast to embark on their independent quest, apart from the remaining groups.
The Soldiers table consists of the determined fighter (brought to life by Travis), Thimble (Laura), the strong-willed figure (Whitney Moore), Wicander (Sam), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie).
Dividing the Cast
Considering 13 cast members, it was clear from the start that maintaining everyone at the same party would be unworkable.
This explains, the opening chapters of Campaign 4 serve as an Introduction, connecting the individual narratives before dividing into three smaller tables: Fighters, Planners, and Seekers.
Characteristics of the Warrior Group
According to the DM, the warrior group is for players who prefer a classically intense combat and conflict-driven gameplay experience where diplomatic options are scarce.
Initially, figures such as the reluctant priest the cleric might look unsuited, but the events of the third episode show why these specific adventurers are best suited for the Soldiers table.
Why They Must Go
To begin with, the group understands precisely where to proceed after a brutal initial meeting with the antagonists.
Casimir of the deceased character—whose demise started the campaign’s events—used the enemy for his selfish purposes, invading the secret base, assaulting Thimble, and stealing all the powerful objects to auction.
The traitor then paid off his liabilities and ran away to a Halovar stronghouse in the northern region, above the city, with Cyd Pridesire close behind.
Personal Motivations
Secondly, each adventurer has a specific drive to leave the city Dol-Makjar:
- The rogue, as Thjazi’s partner and best friend, seeks retribution.
- The knowledgeable figure knows Timmony and warns that it is a dangerous location.
- Tyranny and The cleric, having defied his relatives’ demands to eliminate Teor and instead rescued him, have no safe haven.
- However, their status as key figures in the powerful family could assist the party reach areas they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Additionally, Teor swore a eternal obligation to The savior for his deliverance and will now accompany him anywhere.
Fugitives
In addition, all of them are sought by the authorities that control Dol-Makjar for a range of causes, making remaining behind too risky:
- The agile adventurer and The hero are recognized lawbreakers.
- The warrior and The healer defied the powerful family and the legion of demons they are aligned with.
- Teor is targeted for elimination by the family.
This leaves them few options but to head to the remote area in search of Casimir.
Upcoming Developments
Based on episode three’s post-show segment, we learn that the warrior group will be absent next week, leaving the remaining eight cast members to form the Questers and Strategists groups.
Viewers can anticipate finding out which players will be where in Campaign 4’s concluding setup installment, released on next week.
